What have you been willing to try to attain your healthy lifestyle goals? Are you trying a unique diet? Weight Watchers, South Beach, Atkins or other? What have you tried? Did it work? Share.
Since, I began my quest to live healthy and happy over 3 years ago I have always been intrigued by the Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type Diet. Have you tried it? My dh brought home a book that was meant for him...but turns out it was for my blood type and NOT his. LOL! He assumed that was his blood type because it was his sisters.
In reading the book I found that my life, how I feel, the weight/tummy troubles I have experienced where the same as described in this book for my blood type. I met a few people who have been very successful with it, as well. Interesting to note, that during a very successful part of my weight loss journey, I was actually eating very much like recommended for my blood type. Hmmmmm? One of the things it states is that there are NO grains that are good for me and that I should avoid wheat! I have said to my dh on numerous occasions that grains just seem to stick to me and that I think I may have a sensitivity to wheat(before reading this book). Whenever I eat whole grain (whole wheat) breads, pasta etc...I gain weight...easily and my tummy gets a little upset too. Although, I eat small portions and only 1x per day...my weight easily goes UP. Well, when I took this away...the pounds simply melted away.
My type says eat meat...YAY! Dh's says he is best a vegetarian! YIKES! I have gone over the books several times marking the similarities for our blood types because we have decided to GIVE IT A TRY! Thank goodness he can eat poultry!
We are challenging ourselves to try it out for 7-14 days, just to see how we feel and if it works. I know it will work for me because I've don't it before. Although, I wasn't aware at the time...it was the time during my journey that I felt the best and lost the most weight. So here we go again....low/no carbs, lean protein, tons of fruits and veggies, green tea, cranberry juice, nuts, dark chocolate etc. (the list of possibilities is HUGE!)
We officially begin around September 5...after our vacation! Although, I will do my best to do it during vacation, as well.
Wish me luck!
I'm going to have to check this book out (for my blood type :) Thank you for the resource!
ReplyDeleteHey Tiare,
ReplyDeleteI heard about this concept, got the book from the library, looked it over, got frustrated and turned it back in. The information was helpful but overwhelming to me. I find it hard to feed a family of 5 on a budget and we have 3 different blood types in our household. After reading your post, I've decided to get the book again and challenge myself to eliminate the bad foods for my blood type, maybe every 2 months - just for myself. I'm looking forward to the challenge!
