Oooops! I did it again!

Can someone please stop me?

Who would think that being a smaller size would take so long to get used to?  Well, it does.  Thinking in smaller sizes can be challenging when for more than half your life you've spent time in the double-digit clothing sizes.

Just a week ago, I went shopping...no surprise there!  LOL!  I picked up a pair of pants in a size 10 and a size 8...still feeling a bit uncertain about that size 8.  I try on the 8 (big step for me.  I typically try on the bigger size first and then just stick with it), well it fits nicely.  However, I decide to try on the 10 and think they look nice, as well.  Now, I'm feeling really confused.  I start to edge toward the 10 but then decide to ask for help in deciding.  I put the 8 back on and asked a sales associate what she thought.  She loved them and insisted I keep the 8 because the 10 would be too big.  Reassured, I bought the 8.  Came home and tried them on again!  Guess what?  They still fit!  LOL!

I've shared this with you previously but somehow I find myself doing it again.  It's just a little bit of uncertainty that creeps in.  However, in the end or shall I say at the moment I accept and realize that I indeed achieved such a wonderful goal of losing 120 lbs and going from a 26/28 to a size 8!

Next shopping trip I promise to go for the size 8 first and if I like the way it fits 8 it is...unless there is a perfectly fitting 6!

Be happy. Be healthy.

  1. LOL!! So glad for you, Tiare. Looks like you need shop at the 5-7-9 Store more often. That way you can't even be tempted to look at larger sizes.

  2. This is a hard thing to get used to. I often wander into the womens plus department then stop dead in my tracks when I realize I don't have to buy from that section anymore! As a matter of fact I'm going to try on a few 10's this weekend because the 12's are just about history :-)!! Yay!!
