Ok...maybe that is an exaggeration but it was pretty damn good.
I woke the other day planning to have a smoothie for breakfast, when I realized that I had forgotten to pick up my favorite frozen fruits, which I love to use to make smoothies. Oh boy...what is a girl to do. The only fruit I had in the house besides my bananas, were fresh watermelon and cherries. I had never used either to make a smoothie. I thought, no time like the present to try something. So I grabbed the cherries and started cutting and digging out seeds. (There's got to be an easier way. Someone please tell me there is some fun, cool tool that does this. Please share.)
Here is what my smoothie included:
3/4 cup cherries
1 medium banana
1/2 cup soy milk (add less milk to make it thicker or more ice)
1/2 cup ice
a squirt of Agave
Wow! Who knew? It was quite tasty and I know I'll be doing this again. Now someone please tell me about the gadget for removing the seeds from the cherries.

I wish I knew of such a device!! I was quite relieved to learn the watermelon didn't go in the smoothie!! Banana-cherry...that sounds yum.
ReplyDeleteThere is a cherry pitter and you should be able to find one in any kitchen shop. It is an old tool used by people who canned cherries. Maybe phone around and see what you can find.

I think you can find them at Williams-Sonoma if you have one in your mall or online. (-: Looks YUMMY!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for a cherry pitter locally all summer. You can find them online pretty easily, but I enjoy the hunt as much as the find. Amazon had some the last time I looked.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recipe and the photos made my mouth water.:)
